When customers walk into Goose Feathers in Wallaceburg, owner Sally Mahoney wants them to be delighted.
“Whether their experience was to come in to browse or whether their experience was to come in to make an actual purchase,” Mahoney said. “We bend over backwards to offer the best customer service possible, we want them to be delighted when they leave.”
Mahoney added: “Our sales people are trained and are very intuitive, in terms of matching a customers needs or wants with what we have in the store. We have a very high success rate in matching people up with something they are absolutely thrilled with. If they are not, we tell the customer, don’t buy it unless you are thrilled with it.”
Mahoney said her employees Barb Kerwin and Cathy Bowman are experienced and ready to handle every customers needs.
“Both of those ladies have worked in retail for many, many years,” she said. “They have a lot of experience in customer service in dealing with both men and women.”
Mahoney said she prides herself in making sure her shop is a place where men can come and shop.
“What I like about the feedback I receive from men is they feel very comfortable coming into this store, because they don’t feel like it is not just all women’s products and they’re surrounded by things that make them feel uncomfortable,” she said. “That is one of the reasons why we put our accessories room in a different location, so men are not walking into a store where they are surrounding by purses and jewellry. When men walk in they see hunting items, golfing items… there are sorts of things for both men and women.”
Before customers leave with their purchases, Mahoney said they put the a finishing touch on the items.
“All of our gift wrapping is complimentary,” she said. “Our signature for our gift wrapping is we wrap everything in craft paper, but we put an outstandingly beautiful ribbon on it and an accent.”
