Colleen Joyce Peters, a resident of Walpole Island First Nation, passed away suddenly at University Hospital in London on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the age of 47.

Colleen is the daughter of the late Clyde Sr. and Caroline (Isaac) Peters. Beloved mother of Jim (Lisa Day), Cyril (Alie Maguire), Charnel, Arielle, Kirk, Andrew and Amelia Peters and Gord and Alex Montroy and foster mother of many children. Dear grandmother of Cadence.

Loved sister of Clyde Jr. (Teresa), Clint (Julie), Cindy Hopkins, Leonard (Cecile), Melodie Avina (Hugo) and the late Cardine Peters.

Colleen loved music and her church. She was a founder of the Gospel Jam at Walpole Island United Church.

Colleen had such a big heart, with her and her son Kirk singing on the Walpole Island radio every Sunday morning and at so many funerals, sharing their gift of music.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 7-9 PM on Monday.

The funeral will be celebrated at the Walpole Island Sports Complex on Tuesday, June 24 at 2 PM.
