Anglers fined for keeping too many perch

A Wallaceburg man and a Chatham man have been fined for catching too many yellow perch this past spring.

The pair were fishing on the frozen Lake St. Clair, when conservation approached them back in March.

Reports say the Wallaceburg man had 50 perch in his possession. The conservation fishing licence he had only allows for 25.

He pled guilty and was fined $500.

The Chatham man had 94 perch in his possession. The sport fishing licence he had allows for a limit of 50.

He pled guilty and was fined $1,000.

All of the fish were forfeited.
