Wallaceburg swimmer Madison Broad has captured a gold medal at the age group national championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Broad, who swims for the Chatham Y Pool Sharks, smashed her old time in the 200m back stroke taking the gold medal. Her new best time of 2:19.59 is also a senior national time.
Broad has her eyes set on another gold and another senior national time tomorrow when she competes in the 50 metre back.
Broad, 13, will be swimming in eight different events during the competition, which runs until Monday.
