With the anticipation mounting, it was Lindsay Martin who was crowned as the 2014 Dresden Exhibition Ambassador.
“I can’t believe it, I’m shaking right now still,” Martin told the Sydenham Current directly after the announcement.
Martin said the entire process was tough, but a great experience.
“It was really nerve racking especially during high school,” she said. “You’re getting ready to write exams, applying for university, it’s such a crazy experience. I’m really proud of myself for doing it.”
Martin said she learned a lot during the entire process.
“I have so much more confidence in myself and I learned a lot about agriculture as a whole,” she said. “It’s amazing.”
Martin, along with the runners up in the competition Brittany Lesy and Mallory Martin, each captured a slough of prizes, including bursaries, luggage and prizes donated by many Dresden and area businesses.
