Here are the holiday hours released by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent:
Municipal Offices
· Municipal offices including service desks will be closed Monday August 4 in recognition of the Civic Holiday.
Operational Services
Transit
· CK Transit services will run on Saturday, but not on Sunday or Monday, with the exception of Seasonal Inter-Urban Transit Route S1, “The Beach Bus”. For the fifth year in a row, Chatham-Kent Council is pleased to offer the Beach Bus FREE on the Civic Holiday Weekend. “Art on the Boulevard” is once again being held in Erieau on Saturday, or if you’re looking for a break from the heat why not try the splash pad in Mitchell’s Bay?
The Beach Bus is free beginning Friday, August 1, 2014 through to Monday, August 4, 2014.
Seasonal Inter-Urban Transit Route S1 the “Beach Bus” serves Chatham, Erieau and Mitchell’s Bay with stops in Grande Point, Pain Court, Charing Cross and Blenheim.
It operates every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM until Labour Day. Pools and Arenas
· All pools are open with their regular schedule.
Free Open Swim from 1:30p.m. to 4:00p.m. at all pools. Chatham Jaycee Pool is open 10:30a.m. to 4:00p.m. with free admission.
· All camps are open with their regular schedule.
· All arenas are closed Monday August 4, except for camp bookings.
Public Libraries
· All public libraries are closed Monday August 4.
Culture and Tourism
· Thames Art Gallery, Chatham- Kent Museum, Milner House are all open Monday August 4 from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Ridge House is temporarily closed for renovations.
· The Cultural Centre Box Office will be closed on Monday August 4.
· The Chatham-Kent Visitor Information Centre and RM Classic Car Exhibit are open 9:30 AM. to 4:30 PM on Monday August 4.
Waste and Recycling
· Garbage and recycling collection services during the week of August 4 will be delayed by one day – for residents receiving curbside collection through BFI. Please refer to the 2014 Recycling and Waste Collection Guide for further details.
· The Harwich Transfer Station, Wallaceburg Transfer Station and Chatham Leaf & Yard Depot will be closed Monday August 4 in recognition of the Civic Holiday. All other transfer stations will be open regular hours and will not be affected by the holiday.
Health and Family Services
· Health and Family Services – offices of Employment and Social Services; Housing Services, Children’s Services and Public Health will be closed Monday August 4.
· Clinic Services will be closed Monday.
· Essential after-hours Public Health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207.
· Riverview Gardens long-term care home – administrative offices will be closed on Monday, but facilities are operational.
· Chatham May Court and Wallaceburg Child Care Learning Centres will be closed Monday.
Cemeteries
· Cemetery staff will be on call to handle cemetery business for funeral home operations.
Emergency Services – Police, Fire and Ambulance are operational 24 hours a day every day and are accessible by dialling “911” for emergency calls only.

Some healthcare services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (Chatham & Sydenham Campuses) will be altered on Monday, August 4, 2014 in recognition of the Civic Holiday.
Routine X-rays, EKG, and ultrasounds will not be available on Monday, August 4, 2014. These departments will be staffed to the needs of inpatients and emergencies.
Ambulatory Care Services, Out-Patient Rehabilitation Services, Out-Patient Laboratory Services, Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program, Pre-Admit Clinic, Diabetes Education Centre, Pulmonary Function Lab, Health Records and Patient Appointment Offices will be closed.
Elston Pharmacy, located at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, will be closed on Monday, August 4, 2014.
The Oncology/Chemotherapy Department will be closed on Monday, August 4, 2014.
The Business Office and Cashier’s Office will be closed on Monday, August 4, 2014.
Hemodialysis Care will be open on Monday, August 4, 2014.
The Emergency Departments at Chatham and Sydenham Campuses are open 24 hours daily.
