The Canadian Bank Conspiracy

By Kevin Mitchell – Direct Real Estate Investors

Yesterday I wrote about the extreme importance of taking control of your financial future.

And today I am going to be beating that exact same drum.

The best and fastest way to take control and pave your own path to retirement is to get educated. Gone are the days where you can blindly turn your money over to someone else and hope for the best.

We are living in an unprecedented time and those that take an active roll in deciding where they are going to invest and what they are going to invest in will be much further ahead than those that don’t.

I have a question for you, do you currently invest in mutual funds?

If so, do you know what mutual fund(s) you are invested in? Do you know what the annual MER fee is? Or do you even know what an MER fee is and how it works?

If you don’t then you are in a group with the vast majority of Canadians. And the fact that most people know nothing about their investments is no accident. The financial industry has done a masterful job of convincing us to simply invest blindly and put our focus elsewhere.

Now to clarify I am not saying all mutual funds are terrible investments, instead what I am saying is that through educating yourself on them and how they work you will be much better equipped to make sound investment decisions for yourself and your family.

A few years back I did a ton of research and wrote a book called The Canadian Bank Conspiracy – Your Bank Is Robbing You.

It is only 25 pages and is a really easy read.

If you have any mutual funds (or are thinking about investing in some) I strongly suggest you take the time to read it.

It is a great way to start educating yourself on investing and understand how mutual funds operate and why they can be one of your biggest obstacles to achieving the retirement you deserve.

And continuing on the theme, another way to further your financial education is to come out to the Fortress Syndicate Mortgage Event this Thursday August 21st at 7pm at the UAW Hall in Wallaceburg.

To sign up for the event you can either call Erik Mitchell at 519-784-7188 or go to agents.fdsbroker.com/drei/
