BEARD; Austin Lewis was born on January 25, 1925 on Pelee Island to parents Harold and Mabel Beard (Reh).
He passed away at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the age of 89.
Beloved husband of Judy (Bagley) and the late Maxine Beard (Jackson). Father of Janis Komsa & husband Marty, the late Keith Beard (2011) and the late Harold Blake Beard (2008) and wife Nancy.
Grandfather to Kellie St. Denis, Aaron Beard (Michelle McVicar) and Kevin Beard.
Great grandfather to Joshua and Kirstyn St. Denis and Cianna Beard.
Brother to the late Dorothy Lane (McCormick) (2010), the late Eileen King (1990), the late Keith Maxwell Beard (1921) and the late James Dean Beard (1921).
Stepfather of Debra (Norman) Kunz, Anita Markert, the late Brian Croucher (1994), Cindy (Michael) Dube, Scott (Kymberli) Croucher and grandchildren Charlie Berg, Michael (Annie) Berg, Adam Wrong, Marisa Wrong, Ian Croucher and Randy Croucher and great grandchildren Alexander Berg and Nicholas Berg.
Fondly remembered by Judy’s children Jason (Lisa) Bagley and their children Zachary and Courtney and Heather (Mark) Huckle and their children Samantha and Nicole.
Special friend and nephew of Robert McCormick. Austin was a Veteran of WW II, member of Royal Canadian Legion, St. Clair Masonic Lodge – 32 Degree, Ontario Provincial Police Officer for 20 years, owner of Thames Valley Ambulance Limited for 10 years and owner of F.W. Coneybeare Real Estate for 25 years.
A Memorial Celebration of Austin’s Life will take place at the CAVANAGH RECEPTION CENTRE on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 11:00 am. Masonic Service will take place at 11:30 am.
