A small cottage on Walpole Island is completely destroyed after an evening blaze on the First Nation reserve.
Walpole Island firefighters attended the blaze around 6:20 p.m. at a property along the Snye River well off of Chiefs Road on Walpole Island.
Sources say no one was present at the property at the time of the blaze.
There is no damage estimate at the moment and no word on what caused the fire.
A Sydenham Current reader snapped a couple photos of the blaze from across the river at McDonald Park, outside of Port Lambton.
