Belanger traded to New England in the NLL

Wallaceburg’s Tye Belanger is heading east.

The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League announced on Tuesday that it has traded the former Wallaceburg Red Devils goalie to the New England Black Wolves in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2015 NLL Entry Draft.

The 24-year-old is expected to suit up for the new Wallaceburg Thrashers Senior ‘B’ Lacrosse team as well, and Belanger also coached the Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse Intermediate Girls team this past season.

Belanger was drafted in the secind round of the 2011 NLL draft.

In 18 career games in three seasons, Belanger has a 7-6 record. Last year he was 1-3 and had a .638 save percentage.
