The Dresden Horticultural Society is set to hold their annual meeting on Wednesday, January 14 at the Trinity Christian Centre in downtown Dresden.

The group will be welcoming Lambton County’s “butterfly whisperer” – Brenda Kulon – as their guest speaker.

For 30 years, Kulon has studied, photographed, and protected some of Southwestern Ontario’s rarest and most beautiful butterflies.

Kulon is a secondary school educator, wildlife photographer and natural gardener and has dedicated her life’s work to enhancing the survival of butterflies in the Carolinian Life Zone.

Kulon co-authored a book called “Butterfly Whisperer” with her husband Ben.

The event will include a roast beef dinner served by the Catherine McVean Chapter IODE at 6:30 p.m.

Cost is $20 and includes a year membership to the Horticultural Society.

Tickets are available at McKellar’s Flowers, or from Lynda Weese or Karen Melton.
