Beer bottle smashed over Wallaceburg man’s head

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a disturbance in Wallaceburg.

On Saturday, January 10, around 11:30 p.m. two men known to each other became involved in an altercation at the Canadian Belgium Dutch Club on Dufferin Avenue.

Police allege that a Sombra man assaulted a Wallaceburg man by breaking a beer bottle over his head.

The 19-year-old victim attended Sydenham District Hospital for medical attention.

Last night, the 22-year-old Sombra man was taken into custody.

He was charged with assault with a weapon and released pending a future court date of February 3, 2015.
