Wallaceburg man critically injured by falling tree

A Wallaceburg man has suffered critical injuries after an incident on Friday afternoon.

The Chatham-Kent Police were called to assist at a Camden Township address on Friday, January 16, 2015 at approximately 1:40 p.m. after a falling tree struck a 41-year-old man.

The Wallaceburg resident was helping his father cut down a tree at the Base Line address after obtaining permission to do so by the property owner.

Unfortunately, the man misjudged the falling tree and was stuck by it as it fell.

Chatham-Kent Fire and EMS attended on scene and the man was transported to a London hospital by way of an air ambulance with critical injuries.

Chatham-Kent Police have determined that this was not an industrial accident and the incident remains under investigation.
