Eight people arrested in drug bust

Yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section and Critical Incident Response Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a residence on Park Street in Chatham

Eight people were located in the residence and all were arrested. Officers seized methamphetamine, cocaine and hydromorphone with a total street value of approximately $1000. Canadian currency, digital scales and other drug paraphernalia were also seized.

A 26-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of drug possession for the purposes of trafficking and one count of drug possession. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing. A 42-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of drug possession and one count of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

A 48-year-old woman, 45-year-old man, 24-year-old woman, 28-year-old man, 26-year-old man, 22-year-old man, all from Chatham, were charged with two counts of drug possession. All were released with conditions pending a future court date of February 19, 2015
