The Municipality of Chatham-Kent Public Works Department has declared a snow emergency.

The current weather forecast indicates a heavy snowfall accumulation of 25 to 30 cm by the morning of February 2, 2015.

Parking of vehicles on municipal streets and roads will be prohibited beginning 11:00 PM today and continuing until 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2015.

Emergency vehicles, citizens and local businesses all depend on streets and roads to be clear for passage.

This action is required to enable snow ploughs to clear away the snow as safely and efficiently as possible.

We are asking for the support of motorists to make every effort to move their vehicles off all Municipal streets and roads.

This order will be rescinded as soon as road conditions warrant to limit the inconvenience to residents.

The parking ban has been declared under Chatham-Kent (traffic and parking) by-law 245-2004, section 218.02 and 218.03.
