As a result of the snow storm, police were kept busy yesterday.
Officers responded to:
– 12 hang-up 911 calls
– 10 motor vehicle collisions
– 8 abandoned vehicles
– 5 police assistance (vehicles in ditch, stranded motorists)
– 4 dangerous conditions (malfunctioning street lights)
– 2 traffic hazards (vehicles off the roadway but still affecting traffic)
– 2 traffic complaints (vehicle in ditch, vehicle blocking a driveway)
– 1 Municipal By-Law (request to have vehicles towed for snow removal purposes)
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind everyone that a parking ban on city streets remains in effect.
