Snow bank crash leads to impaired charges

In the morning of February 8th, 2015, a 28-year-old Chatham male was stopped after driving into a snow bank at the intersection of William St. S. and Witherspoon St. Chatham.

Officers detected an odour of alcohol on the subject’s breath and he was subsequently arrested for Impaired driving and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service for testing.

Two breath tests registered over double the legal limit.

The man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in his system.

He was later released with a future court date.
