Dresden Kings win Game 7, oust Lakeshore

The Dresden Kings completed the comeback on Sunday night, winning Game 7 over the Lakeshore Canadiens 7-5.

The Kings will advance to the second round of the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League playoffs, and will face the Essex 73’s.

It was a back-and-forth contest, with five lead changes throughout the game.

Jordan Durston and Austin Bentley each scored a pair for the Kings, while Will Tetzlaff, Derrick VanEvery and Kevin Ritzer also scored for Dresden.

Daniel Tonietto made 30 saves for the victory.

Dresden will jump right into their second round series, heading to Essex on Tuesday night to battle the 73’s in Game 1.

Puck drops at 7 p.m.

The Kings will be at home for Game 2 on Friday, Feb. 20.
