Baby Rylie was the first baby born at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, seen with her parents, Brad and Rachel.
Rylie received a special gift basket from Jolene Hathaway, RPN, on behalf of the Vlasman family in honour of their late daughter Sophia Vlasman.
“This very special gift is in honour of my beloved daughter, Sophia Elizabeth Vlasman, who passed away this past June 6th.
Sophia would have turned 17 on February 17th.
The items in the gift reflect Sophia, and were chosen with love. We are celebrating her life and we will be reminded of the incredible joy she brought to us for the last 17 years.
Sophia was such a gift,” said Jodi Vlasman.
The gift basket included clothes, shoes, books and a blanket as well as many other special little girl items.
This gift is a part of the Vlasman family’s healing process – they believe that for a baby girl to be born on this special day is a true gift.
