The Dresden Kings’ comeback was halted by the Essex 73s on Friday night in Dresden.
Down 3-1 in the third period, the Kings mounted a comeback getting goals by Jordan Durston, his second of the night, and another by rookie Ross Krieger to tie the game at 3-3.
However, the 73s stayed tough and got a goal from Jordan Ryan at the 3:27 mark of OT to take the win in Game 2.
Essex now leads the best-of-seven Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League series 2-0.
Daniel Tonietto made 33 saves in the loss.
Game 3 is on Tuesday in Essex.
