The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a collision in Wallaceburg last month.

On February 6, 2015 around 7:30 p.m. police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Base Line Road.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was allegedly following another vehicle being driven by a man known to him.

The man passed the vehicle and then slowed down causing the driver to have to pass him, police officials said.

The man sped up again and up ahead turned his vehicle around blocking both lanes of the roadway stopping the driver from proceeding.

Police allege as the driver attempted to move forward, the man spun around and went into reverse on the opposite side of the road causing a collision between the vehicles.

The man got out of his vehicle and began pounding on the windows of the other vehicle.

The driver feared for his safety as his family was also in the car, so he fled the scene and called police.

Last night, police located the man and he was taken into custody.

A 26-year-old man of Duke Street in Wallaceburg has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

He was released with conditions pending a future court date of March 17, 2015.
