Chatham-Kent named Kraft Hockeyville finalist

Chatham-Kent has been named one of the top 10 finalists for the Kraft Hockeyville competition.

The announcement was made Saturday night during the Hockey Night in Canada broadcast on CBC.

The winner receives an NHL pre-season game and $100,000 in arena upgrades.

Second prize is $100,000 in arena upgrades, while third prize is $25,000 in arena upgrades.

Kraft Hockeyville is an annual competition sponsored by Kraft Foods, the National Hockey League and the NHL Players’ Association in which communities compete to demonstrate their commitment to the sport of ice hockey.

Voting opens 11 p.m. on March 21 to decide the top two.

Voting closes Monday March 23 at 12:00 a.m. and the top two will be announced March 28.
