The Wallaceburg Figure Skating Club celebrates their 60th Anniversary Saturday (March, 28) with a show at the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.
The show begins at 4 p.m., and the cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children, and free for kids under 3 years old.
The skating group was founded in Wallaceburg in 1955, and has been consistently running since that time.
One of the main features of the show will be a precision skating group from the 1990’s.
Deb Dauw, the event organizer, has been coaching The Wallaceburg Figure Skating club for 43 years, and has been a member of the club for even longer.
“We just want to celebrate 60 years,” said Kim Thomaes a long time member of the club, and one of the people in charge of setting up tomorrow’s event.
After the show at 7 p.m. there will be a roast beef dinner at The Baldoon Golf Club.
“We’re just hoping the club will survive and go on,” explained Thomaes.
If you are interested in attending the 60th anniversary, you can call Thomaes at 519-677-5321.
