The Wallaceburg Lakers will have a brand new look “off the ice” next season.

The Junior ‘C’ Hockey Team held their annual general meeting on Tuesday and some big changes took place.

Former Lakers GM Jim McCrea was voted in as the president of the club.

McCrea got more votes than Dave Meysksens, who had been the interim president after Ron Barnier stepped down last month.

There was also a complete overhaul of the executive board.

Greg Gorski is the vice-president while Paula LeBrasceur is the new secretary.

Sandy Williams is the only holdover from last year, and will remain as the treasurer.

Isaac Aliperti, Bud Labor, Lee Marshall, Shane Pollock, Kris Jacobs, Jeff Riley, Marty Kenney, Paul Ewald, Tom McLaughlin, Jamie Daly, and Bob Taylor make up the Lakers’ new board of directors.

Ken Shine, who has coached the team last season, recently signed on as the co-coach of the Blenheim Blades.

According to published reports, GM Brian Griffith is set to step down from his duties as well.

Reports say the meeting on Wednesday was “contentious” and often times “chaotic.”

The Lakers have missed the playoffs the last four seasons in the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League.
