Foot chase and arrest in Wallaceburg

cops chatham-kent police black cruiser 4Yesterday afternoon, an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg observed the man driving a truck on Oak Street.

As the officer attempted a traffic stop, the man pulled into a driveway and began running.

The man was taken into custody following a short foot pursuit.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was currently wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with his release conditions.

His driving privileges were also suspended for remedial reasons and unpaid fines.

A 45-year-old Sarnia man was transported to police headquarters.

He was charged with two counts of driving while under suspension.

He was released with conditions pending a future court date of May 8, 2015.
