The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman following a traffic complaint.

Last night around 11:30 p.m. a concerned citizen reported to police that a woman under the influence of alcohol had just left the Westcourt Complex in a grey car with her two young children.

An officer on general patrol observed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Dufferin Avenue.

Through investigation, the officer suspected the woman had been drinking.

She was given several opportunities to provide a suitable sample of her breath into an approved screening device, however she failed to comply.

The 32-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with failing to provide a breath sample.

She was released with conditions pending a future court date of June 17, 2015.

The children were picked up by family members.
