May 2-4 ‘head butt’ leads to charges

During the Victoria Day Weekend the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had occasion to investigate an alleged assault that had occurred within the campground of the Rondeau Provincial Park.

Investigation revealed that on May 15, 2015 at about 11 p.m. an adult male had been involved in a verbal confrontation with a 17-year-old teen.

Police say this confrontation resulted in the adult allegedly “head butting” the teen in the facial area causing significant injury.

As a result, the OPP has charged a 19-year-old Chatham man with assault cause bodily harm.

He is to appear at the Chatham Court House on June 24, 2015 in order to answer to this allegation.

Again, the OPP and our law enforcement partners will ensure that our Provincial Parks are a safe place for our community members and visitors.

This type of behaviour will be aggressively investigated and prosecuted by the OPP to reach our continued goal… “A Safe Ontario!”
