Update: OPP release details about Hwy. 40 crash

On May 29, 2015, just before 1:30 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, Chatham-Kent Fire Services and Chatham-Kent Emergency Medical Services responded to a collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 40 and Countryview Line.

The collision occurred when an International delivery truck traveling south on Highway 40, and a Dodge Durango traveling east on Countryview Line, collided.

The Dodge subsequently caught on fire.

The fire was promptly extinguished at scene.

The male driver of the delivery truck and the female driver of the Dodge were both transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The intersection at Highway 40 and Countryview Line remains closed at this time and is expected to reopen in approximately one hour.

The investigation is continuing.
