Update #4: The severe thunderstorm warning ends, while the watch continues.

Update #3: A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for Chatham-Kent.

Updated or ended by 6:09 p.m. EDT.

Thunderstorms continue to affect extreme southwestern Ontario. Rainfall amounts of 50 to 75 mm are likely in some locales. Wind gusts to 90 km/h are also possible.

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Fast moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Avoid driving through water on roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
