Walter Edward Gagnier of Wallaceburg

Walter-Gagnier-1435592984Walter Edward Gagnier, a resident of Wallaceburg, died suddenly in Chatham on June 29, 2015 at the age of 87.

Walter is the son of the late Raoul & Lydia (Laporte) Gagnier. Beloved husband of Bernadette ‘Bunny’ (Bulley). Loving father of Catherine Lucier, Jean Knight (Jerry), David Gagnier (Cherie) and the late Carol Cogghe (Chris). Dear grandfather of Brad, Amy, Caitlin, Jason, Chad, Marcie, Eric, Mitchell and Haley and great grandfather of Alyssa, Chloe, Cory, Owen, Brooklyn, Grayden, Rivia, Caliegh and Colton. Brother of Rita Rivest, Clement Gagnier, Paul Gagnier, Ulric Gagnier (Karen) and Pauline LeClair and the late Eugene and Tony Gagnier, Irene Bulley and Laura Marchand.

Walter was very serious when it came to a game of Pepper or Euchre. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had retired from Nestle Foods. He was the best father and papa ever. Now that he has reunited with Carol they can enjoy hunting and playing cards together.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Wednesday. Parish prayers at 3:30 on Wednesday. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Thursday, July 2 at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
