The Chatham-Kent Police did arrest a youth in connection with assaulting a police officer.
Police officials say at approximately 2:30 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on Grand Ave. E. in Chatham and at that time, a passenger in the vehicle exited and confronted the officer.
The youth allegedly assaulted the officer and after a struggle, was taken into custody, police say.
A Chatham youth was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest in accordance with the Criminal Code and Youth Justice Act and was held pending bail.
The Officer sustained minor injuries in regards to the assault.
