Wallaceburg’s Tanner Cole and Team Ontario have captured the gold medal.

The 14-year-old Wallaceburg lacrosse star and his Team Ontario teammates beat British Columbia 7-2 in the gold medal game Saturday in the national bantam lacrosse tournament held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Tanner was solid in the championship game scoring one goal and adding two assists.

“They are all going crazy,” said Brad Cole, Tanner’s dad.

“They all played as a team. Had great coaching and every player rose to the occasion. Tanner had a really good tourney playing well at both ends of the floor.”

Team Ontario went 5-0 in round robin play, earning a bye directly into the finals.

Heading into the gold medal game Tanner had 3 goals and 7 assists in the tournament.
