Meth seized in drug bust

Yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Intelligence Unit, with the assistance of the Critical Incident Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a residence in Chatham.

Inside the residence, officers located crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $2600. Also seized were three digital scales, packaging materials, an air pistol, an operable conducted energy weapon, an aerosol can of bear repellent spray and small amount of Canadian currency.

A 27-year-old Chatham man was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of a prohibited device and possession of a weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order. He has been held pending a bail hearing. A 22-year-old Chatham woman was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking. She has been held pending a bail hearing.
