Attempted robbery suspect sought in Wallaceburg

Police are seeking a suspect who attempted to steal a guitar in Wallaceburg.

In the early morning hours of August 2, 2015, Chatham-Kent Police attended an address on Minnie St, Wallaceburg, in regards to a disturbance.

Police officials say it was quickly learned that an unknown male attempted to steal a guitar from the property.

A female visiting the residence screamed at him and attempted to grab the guitar from the suspect; she was pushed down to the ground and struck in the arm.

Her friend came to her assistance and they were able to fight off the suspect, while pulling a sweater off of him, and prevent him from stealing any property.

Police say the suspect description was obtained, a perimeter was set up, and Police K9 was utilized in an attempt to locate the suspect.

After some time, the track was called and the suspect could not be located.
