Madison Broad captures third gold at nationals

Gold Medal for 100m Backstroke

Wallaceburg’s Madison Broad competed in five events at the Canadian Age Group Championships in Quebec, and came away with five medals.

After already capturing gold in the 200m Backstroke and the 50m Backstroke, the 14-year-old Chatham Y Pool Sharks swimmer topped the podium in the 100m Backstroke with a personal best time of 1:03.80.

She also captured a silver medal (50m fly) and a bronze medal (50m free) at the competition.

The competition held in Quebec City has brought together 860 swimmers from across Canada as well as International Athletes from Bermuda, Mexico and USA.
