The Wallaceburg & District Council For The Arts (WDCA) proudly presents three-time Juno Award nominee Emm Gryner live at the Jeanne Gordon Theatre in Wallaceburg on Saturday, September 19.

The performance will be the first of a four-show series at the Gordon Theatre through the fall and winter.

“We’re looking forward to creating some more magic inside the Jeanne Gordon Theatre,” said WDCA Chairman Dave Elliott. “We are planning two shows before Christmas and two to follow the holidays. We are asking for patrons to get tickets sooner rather than later for this first show.”

The Emm Gryner event is expected to sell fairly quickly, considering Emm’s considerable talent, background and local roots.

Gryner, born in Sarnia and raised in Forest, has left her mark on the music industry in Canada and across the globe. With 18 album releases of her own, Gryner was also a member of David Bowie’s band and raised recent eyebrows for her music work alongside Commander Chris Hadfield, creating a new version of literal “Space Oddity” and penning a duet together, entitled “So Easy”.

One of the most respected musicians and talents in the country, Emm Gryner’s ‘Science Fair’ album was named by Nelly Furtado as one of her ‘desert island discs’ in a VH1 interview. David Bowie named Gryner as one of his two favourite Canadian acts and Bono recognized Emm’s “Almighty Love” track as one of six songs he wished he had written in the last twenty years of music.

Wallaceburg’s Mikayla Lozon will open the show at 8pm. Lozon, a 16-year-old UCC student, won this year’s Jr. Star Search at the CBD Club and qualified first overall in her region for the Western Fair Rise 2 Fame Talent Contest.

Lozon is described as mature beyond her years musically and is sure to impress with her classical vocals.

Tickets are available NOW at the Wallaceburg Museum or by calling 519-627-8962.

Tickets can also be purchased at The James Street Eatery (Wallaceburg), McKellar’s Flowers (Dresden) and 99.1 CKXS (Wallaceburg). Online orders can be placed at www.cktickets.com
