An online fundraiser has been launched for the Walpole Island Elementary School.
A GoFundMe.ca campaign was started to raise some funds for the kindergarten wing od the school, which thge fundriaser organizers say is in need of repair.
“Just recently, we had to close our kindergarten wing,” the campaign description reads.
“The kindergarten wing is very old and is in need of major repairs before school starts back in September 2015. With the kindergarten wing closed, we find ourselves struggling to find enough space for our early years and our language immersion programs.”
The campaign goal has been set for $60,000.
“Unfortunately, our funding leaves very little room for major repairs like these. Even then, it is a lengthy process to seek additional funding. The quotes for the repairs have been $60,000. This is our immediate goal in order to have the kindergarten wing open for September 2015.”
Messages have been sent to the individuals that have started the campaign. but have yet to be returned.
