Michael’s wish comes true – See Photos

Together with local Make-A-Wish volunteers, employees from Home Depot, Sergeant Brian Knowler and members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service, Make-A-Wish Southwestern Ontario held an exciting wish reveal for a young boy from Thamesville.

Six-year-old Michael Theoret is battling cancer.

His most cherished wish is to have his very own backyard playset, so he can play outside with his brother and be active.

On Thursday, August 6, volunteers worked to build the playset while Michael was admitted in hospital to receive his chemotherapy treatments.

When he arrived home on Friday, the Make-A-Wish volunteer wish grantors organized a wish party to celebrate Michael’s wish, which included special guests from the OPP and CKPS with their police cruisers.

“Make-A-Wish is a fantastic organization and their foundations are able to help inspire families that have life-threatening illnesses enough to cope with a lot of things,” Wende Badder, a volunteer with Make-A-Wish, told the Sydenham Current. “So they provide hope, they provide a lot of support and they allow a child and the family to experience the magic of a wish.”
