Eleanor Mae Maltby, a resident of Wallaceburg, died peacefully at Fairfield Park on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the age of 81.
Eleanor is the daughter of the late Alexander & Cassie (McDougall) Sanderson. Beloved wife of the late Clare Ruddell Maltby (2009). Loving mother of Sandra Maltby-Mills (Dennis), Scott Maltby (Katsura) of Japan and Devon Maltby (Jayne) of Toronto. Loved grandmother of Chelsea, Mackenzie, Thomas, Aidan and the late Mathew. Dear sister of Elizabeth Rourke (Bud) of Owen Sound, John Sanderson (Norma) of Sault St. Marie, Mary Ruth Picoski (the late Doug) of Kitchener and the late Connie Martin (Orville).
Eleanor had retired highly respected as the administrator of Lapointe Fisher Nursing Home. She & Clare spent many leisure years travelling, and enjoying an active life with family and friends. After health challenges, she continued to meet life head on with courage and grace.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Wednesday August 19. The funeral will be celebrated at Trinity United Church on Thursday, August 20 at 1:00 PM. Cremation with burial in Riverview Cemetery.
