The Chatham-Kent Police Service is currently investigating allegations of excessive use of force by two of its members.

The matter came to the attention of police late last week and as a result, a Chief’s complaint was initiated and an investigator has been assigned to the file.

Police are currently in the preliminary stages of this investigation and in order to not jeopardize said investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

“I wish to ensure the public that these matters are taken very seriously and we will be conducting a full and thorough investigation into these allegations,” stated Inspector Trevor Crane. “As the investigation unfolds, timely updates to the media will be provided.”
