The Wallaceburg Sting are the Western Ontario Soccer League First Division Cup champions.
The Sting defeated the Simcoe Thunder 5-2 at the Hellenic Community Centre in London on Wednesday night.
Phil Nywening scored a pair of goals for Wallaceburg, while Troy Babcock, Casey McGee and Colin McArthur also added goals in the win.
This is Wallaceburg’s first title since 1999.

This is a great accomplishment for this team. I am blessed to play with a number of them on Tuesday nights in the Wallaceburg men’s rec soccer league and have learned a lot from their quality play. Too bad this gane couldn’t have happened closer to home so that area fans could have seen it.
