A Wallaceburg vegetable stand is set to raise some funds for two local artists, who were injured in a car crash last month.

Annie’s Vegetable Stand, located in the parking lot by Crabby Joe’s and Wallaceburg Auto Wash on McNaughton Ave., is holding the fundraiser for Raven Kroon and Mike Wilder on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Annie VanDorsselaer, owner of the stand, said many people have stepped up offering donated items.

“A lot of farmers are donating corn, strawberries, tomatoes. Everything is donated and it is all going to go towards Raven and Mike for their medical bills,” she said.

“There is going to be all kinds of people here. Her family is all going to be here supporting her and they are going to be selling the stuff.”

The fundraiser will run from 8 a.m. until approximately 6 p.m.

Both Raven and Mike were involved in a crash in the afternoon of July 30 on Forhan St. just outside of Wallaceburg.

A 20-year-old Kent Bridge man was charged following the crash.

Mike is recovering at home, while Raven remains in hospital.
