A free family movie night is being held on Friday, Sept. 4 at the future home of the Wallaceburg splash pad.
The movie, Disney’s Finding Nemo, will start at dusk but people are being encouraged to setup their chairs at Colwell Park at 7 p.m.
The Wallaceburg group has been moving full steam ahead this month after Wallaceburg Coun. Carmen McGregor entered a successful motion at the Aug. 10 council meeting to establish the committee and allow fundraising efforts to begin.
Council agreed to have the splash pad constructed at Colwell Park on Running Creek Drive, the site of the former Colwell Pool.
Council voted unanimously in favour of the project.
Chris Young, who is spearheading the project and leading the committee, said they are eyeing next July to have the splash pad opened.
