Joseph Henry Taylor, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the age of 88.
Joe is the son of the late William and Eleanor (Wade) Taylor. Beloved husband of Lenora (nee Patterson). Loving father of Wendy Miller (Jerry) and their children Julie Dykema, David Miller and son-in-law Andrew Dykema, Debbie Krohn (Charles) and their children Jon and Joe (Clarissa) Krohn, Paul Taylor and his children Jayden and Jacey. Great grandfather of Ashley, Felicia, Amanda, Marissa and Hannah Dykema. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Anna Wadsworth (Gordon), Margaret Burns (Grant), Effie Cragg (Norman), Ilene Watson (Jack), Jim Taylor (Thelma), Mary Shaw (Clayton), Robert Taylor (surviving spouse Olive) and Betty Pieters (Don). He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Joe was very active in his community. His political career spanned over 3 decades culminating in his being Mayor of Wallaceburg and Warden of Kent County.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Funeral Service in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 2 pm. Interment, Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
