The local Salvation Army food bank in Wallaceburg is starting to get bare.

Gerri St. Pierre, a family service worker with the Salvation Army, says they are specifically in need of lunch snacks for the kids.

“We can use any healthy lunch snacks,” St. Pierre said.

“Cheese strings, fresh fruit, apple sauce cups, granola bars and that sort of thing.”

She added: “Another thing we could really use at this point is spaghetti sauce, we are getting really low on that. Canned fruits as well. We can always use apples and oranges. We have a lot of veggies coming in right now from farmers and green houses so we are pretty good with that and with our gardens, but apples and oranges we don’t have any of that coming in.”

The Salvation Army food bank is located at 600 Lowe Ave. in Wallaceburg.

They can be reached at 519-627-1163.
