Letter: Exercise class helping Wallaceburg senior

IMG_1804

I was asked over and over to come and exercise; and I really didn’t think I could.

In May, the Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre started a gentle chair exercise and I thought; ‘This is the exercise class for me.’

I went week after week and I soon began to believe that I can exercise!

My knees bend easier, I can again put one leg under the under and sit crossed legged when I want. I have more movement in my arms, it doesn’t hurt to hang out my laundry. I don’t ache and I am not stiff anymore.

I feel so much more relaxed all the time, just comfortable in my skin again. I definitely have more ambition to get up and do things every day. I just feel better all around.

I enjoy the laughs and the company of everyone at the exercise class, it doesn’t even feel like we exercise for an hour, everyone is smiling and laughing the whole time; and all my exercise buddies love

my wild and crazy patterns I choose for my exercise clothes!

The time is great in the day, just before dinner, the Centre is quiet and not many people are around.

You have all day to finish your housework and errands, then come exercise, go home and have supper and get ready for the evening activities.

Dana is a really nice instructor and Janet is a fun instructor, I thank them both for making me believe in myself that I can exercise.

Gentle or beginner exercise are offered Monday and Thursday each week at 4 p.m. at the Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre at 205 James Street in Wallaceburg. Come and try it, believe me anyone can exercise and you will feel so much better for trying it.
