A trio of local athletes braved extreme conditions in Las Vegas over the weekend at the annual World’s Toughest Mudder event.
Joe Perry and Matt Richie from Wallaceburg and Dave McCaughrin from Dresden competed in the 24-hour long competition.
“WTM is over for another year,” Perry wrote on Facebook.
“I am just fine aside from the normal aches and pains after 24+ hours of brutality. Thank you to everyone who supported me near and far. I will send another update later when I have a chance. And of course I will eventually follow that up with my annual overly detailed breakdown of the event itself. In the meantime I’m going to have a little snooze.”
Perry completed 60 miles during the competition, which placed him second in his age group and 88th overall.
Richie completed 25 miles, putting him 119th in his age group and 738 overall.
McCaughrin finished 25 miles, good for 27th in his division and 815th overall.
