One of Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres (CKCHC) goal is to lend support to community members throughout this upcoming holiday season.
In order to spread holiday cheer within the community, they will be hosting a free Merry Mingle holiday lunch during the month of December.
All lunches will be on a first come, first serve basis running from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
The locations and times are listed below:
– December 9 – Wallaceburg location (808 Dufferin Avenue)
– December 11 – Walpole Island location (785 Tecumseh Road)
– December 15 – Chatham location (150 Richmond Street)
Merry Mingle will offer an opportunity for local residents to socialize, enjoy a hot meal and learn about the free community programs offered at the CKCHC.
Although this does not solve the food security issues in the Chatham-Kent community, CKCHC officials believe it can temporarily help while bringing people together where meaningful discussions may occur.
It also fosters community belonging amongst those who may normally feel ostracized.
Donations are always appreciated, even if it is time, food, or something they can hand out during the event.
