The Surviving To Thriving Network will present ‘Welcoming Syrian Families to Chatham-Kent’, taking place at Sprucedale United Church on Monday, December 7, 2015 and featuring Global Voices, a multicultural group of students from Chatham-Kent Secondary School (CKSS) engaged in global social issues and bringing about awareness in our community.

The group is proud to bring Global Voices to Sprucedale United Church for the first time.

‘Welcoming Syrian Families to Chatham-Kent’ is for everyone and is an opportunity to connect together as a community, learn about the Syrian crisis, and prepare to welcome families from one of the largest migrations in human history.

Following the student presentation, those in attendance will hear about local welcoming efforts.

The event will run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Following the presentation, holiday treats will be available.

The Surviving To Thriving Network is a network of people involved with sponsoring and supporting Syrian refugee families.

Membership is free, and anyone interested to learn more about these newcomers or offer assistance is welcome to participate, they can visit their Facebook page or email thrivingck@gmail.com.
