A Chatham man faces a string of charges, after allegedly fleeing from police earlier this month.
On December 2, 2015 just before 11:00 a.m. officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Lacroix Street in Chatham.
The driver failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.
The driver began operating his vehicle in an erratic manner and almost struck an on-coming police cruiser with its emergency lights and siren activated.
The pursuit was terminated for public safety reasons.
On December 3, 2015, the owner of the vehicle reported it stolen.
Through investigation, police identified the man in possession of the vehicle as the same man who failed to stop for police.
On December 4, 2015, officers located the man he was apprehended.
The 26-year-old Chatham man was charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by a crime over $,5000.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
